  1. Move to a level, solid surface away from traffic and turn on hazards.
  2. Set the parking brake; place the vehicle in Park (or in gear for manual).
  3. Gather the spare, jack, and tools; loosen lug nuts slightly before jacking.
  4. Jack at the proper lift point, swap the wheel, hand-tighten, lower, then torque.
  5. Stow the flat and head to Vestavia Tire Express for repair or replacement.

Impound Release — What to Bring & When

When a vehicle is towed after an accident, arrest, or license suspension, it can be released to the driver at our location during business hours Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM.

Step 1 — Get Your City Release

You must first obtain a release from City Hall. Bring:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Tag Receipt or Proof of Ownership

Step 2 — Pick Up at Vestavia Tire Express

  • Bring the City release form to: 1456 Montgomery Hwy., Birmingham, AL 35216
  • Payment: CASH ONLY for impound/tow fees
  • Hours for release: Mon–Fri, 8:00AM–4:30PM
